The Burren National Park, or a daytrip to Kerry via the car ferry can be enjoyed, whilst locally there is golfing, water sports, horse riding, dolphin watching and a number of restaurants in the area.

Carrigaholt is an old fishing port watched by a 15th century castle. The village lies on the Loop Head Peninsula at the mouth of the Shannon, and provides the first safe harbour for ships traveling up the river. Carrigaholt has much to offer anyone who enjoys spectacular sea cliff scenery, bird watching, whale watching, fascinating and world famous geology, wind surfing, kite surfing, fresh seafood restaurants and warm village pubs.
