The principal town and resort on the lovely Inishowen Peninsula, Buncrana boasts a 5km sandy beach. With lovely river walks along the Crana River, which is also an excellent Salmon River.
Swan Park. North of the town sheltered Swan Park straddles the Crana River.
The Keep. In Swan Park is Tower House, a fine mediaeval building on a Norman foundation.
Buncrana Leisure Centre. It has a 25m swimming pool, sauna and steam room. Crèche facilities available on request.
*Northwest Golf Club is on the banks of Lough Swilly, sandwiched between the Fahan Mountains and the Inishowen shore. This traditional 18 hole links course has provided Irish golf since 1890. The classical links setting is typified by windswept driveland, sea washed turf, hard flat greens and voracious pot bunkers. It is described as a red blooded par 70 course and promises a memorable round of golf. This is not the only delight for the golfing enthusiast, as there are several golf courses within short driving distances. Ballyliffen course is beside Ballyliffen beach, a popular tourist spot, and there are two more courses on the peninsula at Greencastle and Redcastle, on the banks of Lough Foyle. And as if that were not enough, the city of Derry boasts the Foyle Golf Club in the Waterside, The Foyle Golf Centre just off the Culmore road and the Faughan Centre a few miles from the village of Eglinton.
