Courtmacsherry is a deep-sea angling centre. A charter operator based here specialises in shark, bottom and wreck fishing. Or you can fish from the pier, just 200 yards away. There is a sailing school at the nearby beach and this is the base for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution lifeboat.
There are many lovely walks along the coast. Courtmacsherry is the start of the route for the famous Fuchsia Walk and the Seven Heads walk. There are so many walks that a book has been published called Courtmacsherry Walks - this is available for you to look at in the apartment.
Golf is available at both Bandon (10 miles) and Clonakilty (10 miles). There is horse riding at the stables just across from the beach, 200 yards away.
A children's playground is within walking distance.
The Lifeboat Inn in the village serves food, and both the Lifeboat Inn and the Anchor Bar have live music. Within easy travelling distance is a wonderful selection of gourmet restaurants, including the gourmet capital of Ireland, Kinsale, 11 miles away.
Local festivals include the Courtmacsherry Festival, which is held the last week in the July and the first week in August, the Courtmacsherry Storytelling Carnival, and the Courtmacsherry Races, which take place along the beach.
There is a country market in the village every Friday.
Other attractions include a bird sanctuary in Timoleague and a nearby old Cistercian Abbey.
