Situated 12 miles to the north of Limerick in County Clare is the picturesque town of Broadford. Surrounded by the wooded slopes of the Bernagh Mountains, this little town is a popular location for those who enjoy hill walking and cycling. It is also within easy driving distance of Lough Doon – an incredibly scenic place with a picnic area that is ideal for fishing and angling. The impressive Lough Derg - a large and beautiful lake with a number of interesting sites dotted along its shores – is also close by. Broadford itself is well placed for accessing the vibrant cities of Ennis and Limerick – both of which offer great shops, mouth watering restaurants and lively entertainment.

Ideally positioned at the very tip of the Strathaird Peninsula on the beautiful Isle of Skye, the rural crafting community of Elgol lies at the end of a single track road which runs from the village of Broadford. Quiet, peaceful and amid stunning scenery, Elgol makes a wonderful base for those seeking to get away from it all and rediscover nature. Experienced hill walkers and climbers have a choice of mountain trails to explore, while a picnic by the side of the Loch Coruisk is an ideal afternoon treat. Fishing boats operate from Elgol’s small quay, and can transport visitors across the water and past the seal colony. For amenities including pubs, restaurants, shops and a petrol station, Broadford is just 15 miles from Elgol.

The south-west coast of the Isle of Skye is home to Tarskavaig, one of a number of picturesque, scattered communities. Tarkasvaig is a classic crafting settlement situated on an elevated spot, that extends down to Tarskavaig Bay. The houses here enjoy spectacular views towards Rhum and Eigg. The village has a sandy beach and dolphins, seals and Minky whales are frequently spotted in the waters.
