The town of New Ross is located in the estuary of the River Barrow, in County Wexford. New Ross makes a great base from which to drive around the scenic Ring of Hook and take in the Hook lighthouse and both Dunbrody and Tintern Abbey. The area offers fine beaches and restaurants, with seafood being a speciality, and a number of activities including angling, canoeing, windsurfing, snorkelling, golf and quad biking, with river cruises also available. Within easy driving distance are the city of Waterford, the shopping capital of South East Ireland and home of the Waterford Crystal factory, and the lovely town of Wexford.

The fishing village of Duncannon is situated in County Wexford. Waterford Harbour lies to the west and the sandy beach is popular for swimming and sunbathing. With a few pubs and restaurants, and a children's playground by the beach, Duncannon is a lovely place for a quiet seaside holiday. Catch a ferry to the beaches and watersports of Dunmore East, shop for traditional crystal in Waterford, enjoy the music of Wexford Festival Opera each October or explore some of the historic houses, beautiful gardens and lovely walks in this wonderful part of Ireland.

Campile, which means ’head of the creek’, lies to the south of County Wexford, 10 miles from New Ross. Campile is home to the ruins of Dunbrody Abbey, whose visitor centre and yew-tree maze prove popular with visitors each year. Also in the region are Kilmokea House and Gardens, the JFK Arboretum and JFK ancestral home and the beautiful Blue Flag sandy beach at Duncannon. Amenities can be found in New Ross or Wexford, and Campile itself has a shop and a pub.
