Reached via a causeway, the village is steeped in history and the surrounding region is full of castle ruins and forts. Visitors are also able to hire a boat for a trip to the off shore islands, whilst the surrounding area also offers good walking opportunities. Skibbereen, a vibrant town, is approximately seven miles away and boasts a range of shops, restaurants and pubs, along with the fascinating West Cork Arts Centre and Skibbereen Heritage Centre. |
